The Maya Truste for Vehicle Preservation

Terms and Conditions of Sale of Goods

The Maya Truste is a non-commercial organisation, run by unpaid volunteers, which rescues and rehomes unwanted vintage vehicles and machinery. The Truste is not a motor dealership, and its members are not engineers nor repairers.

All vehicles offered for sale are sold in the same condition as they were acquired, and all are sold as being for restoration only. No warranties of any nature are offered with any vehicle. None of the vehicles offered for sale are sold as being roadworthy. No trade terms apply.

Any description made either in writing in the form of an advertisement or other document, or verbally in person or over the telephone is given strictly on the understanding that the Truste volunteers are not trained engineers, and do not have access to inspection facilities. We strongly advise all prospective purchasers to inspect vehicles personally before agreeing to buy, or arrange for an independent engineers report. If any buyer enters into a contract with the Truste without inspecting the vehicle, and based on description only, no rejection will be accepted, nor claim for liability entertained under any circumstances.

Any buyer entering into a contract to purchase any of our vehicles will be expected to pay a non-refundable deposit of 20% on that date. Failure to complete the contract within the specified period will result in the deposit being forfeit, and the goods will be offered for resale, without further notification.

Any extra works requested by purchasers will be paid for in full prior to the work commencing. In the event of subsequent non-completion of the purchase, all such costs will be forfeit.

Transport of any vehicle arranged at the buyers request shall be paid for in full before any goods leave our depot. In the event of rejection upon delivery, or any other breach of contract, these costs shall be forfeit. In cases of barter or part exchange, where the transport costs exceed the cash sum forming part of the deal, the total transport costs shall be paid by the purchaser in the event of non-completion of the contract. A refundable deposit in the total sum will be requested before any goods leave our depot.

Where payment is made by cheque, no goods will be released or delivered before the cheque has cleared.

In the event of any legal dispute, the contract of sale shall be deemed to have been made in Launceston. British law shall be deemed to apply.

All purchases made from the Truste shall be deemed to be on the understanding and acceptance of these terms and conditions.
